Smart lighting that shows you the way
Light not only illuminates the way, it can also inform, warn and direct. The projection functions of the DIGITAL LIGHT literally show you the way: Guide lines, symbols, and light animations appear on the roadway right in front of you. For example, on roads that have been reduced by construction sites, you can find your way around thanks to the smart markings that represent approximately the width of the vehicle. With the Spotlight feature, you can see pedestrians in the danger zone and detect where they are moving without dazzling them. And a light symbol warns you of the risk of running red lights or stop signs, or entering a road in the prohibited direction.
Your advantages at a glance
The projection functions of the DIGITAL LIGHT enrich the driving experience with digital tools. The additional information becomes visible right in front of your eyes in the form of real light projections onto the road. During the ride they are displayed from a speed of 30 km/h. Since the legal requirements allowing or prohibiting the different projection functions are different in each country, the DIGITAL LIGHT has a built-in geofencing function that automatically adapts the functions to the provisions in force in each case when crossing a border.
Product information
To use this Digital Extra, the DIGITAL LIGHT headlamp technology (P35) must be installed in the vehicle. Availability is dependent on model series and software version.
Currently, the projection functions are available in part in the USA, EU, China and the Gulf States, depending on local registration regulations (as of 06/2021).
