You step out of the house and routinely pat down your pockets. Smartphone, wallet, you've got everything – but where is the car key? Have you misplaced it, or lost it? Or has it even been stolen? The uncertainty makes for an uneasy feeling. Take a breath and deactivate your car key via the Mercedes-Benz App. And once the key has turned up, you can activate it again via the Mercedes-Benz App.

One click in the Mercedes-Benz App and entering your Mercedes me ID PIN blocks all your keys and locks your Mercedes. Compatible NFC devices such as the digital vehicle key on the smartphone are also deactivated. The two-stage steering wheel lock provides additional protection. This way you can be sure that nobody moves your Mercedes without you wanting them to.

Although you cannot keep an eye on your Mercedes-Benz at all times, you can rest assured that the necessary steps will be taken as soon as possible in the event of theft. Our third-party provider provides vehicle directly to police. As a result, the investigations may start immediately which can increase the potential of retrieving your vehicle.

Your advantages at a glance

Stolen Vehicle Assistance gives the customer a safe and streamlined way to assist local law enforcement officials in locating and potentially recovering stolen vehicles. After filing a police report on a stolen vehicle, the customer contacts the Customer Assistance Center with the police report case number and some additional details. Stolen Vehicle Assistance helps authorities locate stolen vehicles more quickly, which increases the chance of a successful recovery.

Note on use

Vehicles that cannot be found prior to purchasing this Digital Extra are not included in this Digital Extra. It is also recommended that you store an e-mail address in your Mercedes-Benz account in addition to your mobile phone number. This allows you to report a loss even if your vehicle and smartphone have been stolen.

Being able to locate your vehicle requires an active Mercedes-Benz account, acceptance of the terms of use of Digital Extras, at least one activated Digital Extra in the vehicle as well as activation of the Stolen Vehicle Assistance Digital Extra. An e-mail address and telephone number must also be stored in the Mercedes-Benz account. The tracking of stolen vehicles is an independent Digital Extra of the Vehicle Tracker, which vehicle users can activate or deactivate themselves. The tracking of stolen vehicles on the other hand is started solely by a member of the staff of our third-party provider – in close coordination with police. Searches will be terminated automatically after 30 days if the vehicle does not send a new position for 30 consecutive days. You will not receive any information about the position of your vehicle during the search process from our third-party provider. For your safety, all information about the position of your vehicle will be communicated by our third-party provider to the law enforcement agency, and all your communications regarding the position of your vehicle should be with the law enforcement agency.
