Whether you're driving in an unfamiliar city or on long stretches of highway with monotonous stretches and construction zones, stay in control even in difficult situations. Traffic Sign Assist clearly shows you which signs are currently active in MBUX and, if available, in the head-up display. You can use the camera images to detect maximum permissible speed signs and additional restriction signs, such as those for certain weather conditions or specific times of the day. It is also able to detect red lights and stop signs, alerting you to unintentional crossings or oncoming driving. Provides additional support for predictive driving at pedestrian crossings with signage: If pedestrians want to cross the street there, they will alert you.

While driving, the activated Traffic Sign Assist system analyzes the camera images and can recognize certain traffic signs and traffic lights. It also evaluates the route being driven, based on map data, e.g. in the event of poor signage outside built-up areas. In addition to displaying speed limits, Traffic Sign Assist can warn you in specific situations: With an acoustic and visual warning for inadvertent crossing of detected stop signs and red lights, and for oncoming input for detected no-entry signs; With an acoustic and visual warning for pedestrians in detected pedestrian crossing areas; With an acoustic and visual warning when the detected maximum permissible speed is exceeded. If your vehicle is equipped with Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC, you can conveniently adopt the detected speed limits.
