Our authorised service partner can provide the crucial edge in terms of time. The service partner releases the position data of your vehicle directly to police. As a result, the investigations start immediately even without a court order. And you increase the chances that your Mercedes quickly returns to where it belongs.
Your advantages at a glance
If your vehicle was stolen, you report the theft immediately to police yourself. That is where you are given a case number. You then use the Digital Extra in the Mercedes-Benz App to contact the security centre of our authorised service partner. Incidentally: if you have an anti-theft alarm system, a message is sent to the security centre automatically. After you have relayed your data, the case number and the relevant police station to the security centre, its employees take care of the further process. They manage the communication with police and provide support for the officers by starting the tracking and transmitting the position data. If your vehicle was located, police can start with the search immediately.
Note on use
Vehicles that cannot be found prior to purchasing this Digital Extra are not included in this Digital Extra. It is also recommended that you store an e-mail address in your Mercedes-Benz account in addition to your mobile phone number. This allows you to report a loss even if your vehicle and smartphone have been stolen.
Being able to locate your vehicle requires an active Mercedes-Benz account, acceptance of the terms of use of Digital Extras, at least one activated Digital Extra in the vehicle as well as activation of the Stolen Vehicle Help Digital Extra. An e-mail address and telephone number must also stored in the Mercedes-Benz account. The tracking of stolen vehicles is independent of the Vehicle Tracker, which vehicle users can activate or deactivate themselves. The tracking of stolen vehicles on the other hand is started solely by a member of the staff of our authorised partner's security centre at your behest – in close coordination with police. It will be terminated automatically after 30 days if the vehicle does not send a new position for 30 consecutive days. You do not have any information about the position of your vehicle during the search process.
