The troublesome search for a parking space – stressful for the driver, avoidable traffic build-up for local residents. The Available Parking Spaces Digital Extra locates available parking spaces for you in multi-storey car parks and on the street. If you decide on a spot in a multi-storey car park you will receive information such as opening times, prices, payment options and the height limit of the entrance. For parking spaces on the street you will receive information on the size of the parking space and the time that has elapsed since the space became available.

See the weather coming

Get ready for the weather at your destination even during the trip – the Weather map Digital Extra shows you on the map where it's currently sunny, cloudy or raining. Then just tap on the respective weather symbol for further information about the forecast for that area.

Be prepared for any weather, wherever you go

On your way to the mountains, you plan for a break at an idyllic lake. You’ve packed the swimwear and planned the most beautiful route in advance – now only the weather has to play along. Your Mercedes knows if you can expect sun and pleasant temperatures: MBUX "Weather forecast" shows current weather information and forecasts on the media display. You choose the locations for which weather data is displayed – your current location, your destination and any other location of your choice.

Navigate straight to points of interest at any location

Where is the Skytree in Tokyo? How do you get to the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco? Your Mercedes knows the way to all the must-see attractions on your city break. You start the Local Search by voice command ..."Hey Mercedes, take me to the Louvre in Paris" or by entering information via the central controls. Save your search results or start your navigation system right away. This way, you can find any point of interest with ease.

Finds the fastest route to your destination every time

On your well deserved weekend outing you are making good progress on the motorway when all of sudden everything comes to a grinding halt – you're in a jam. It is situations such as this that make you wish you had a means of foreseeing traffic situations and taking timely evasive action. Live Traffic Information makes precisely this possible: Your route is modified automatically by reference to current traffic information, and you can continue your journey on less congested roads. Your arrival time is updated dynamically so that you know exactly when you will reach your destination. You stay on the move and can make the best possible use of your valuable time.

Safe and anticipatory driving with the aid of information from the connected network

On a trip in the mountains you're suddenly confronted with an icy patch around a bend and only just avoid skidding out of control. Everyone has experienced such unsettling situations, which pose a major risk in road traffic. Thanks to Car-to-X Communication you can see such hazards coming and react in good time. Vehicles equipped with this technology communicate with each other, so that information is relayed to your vehicle and you, in turn, also keep other drivers informed. You are warned by a marking on the navigation map and, where appropriate, by a spoken announcement. This way, you reach your destination safely, and without any unpleasant surprises.

Always on track with up-to-date map data

Time before heading off on holidays is at a minimum and you still have to go to the workshop to have your navigation data updated? Such time-consuming map updates are a thing of the past with the Online Map Update. You can conveniently update your map material via mobile communication or download from the Mercedes-Benz profile. In this way, you can always be sure that you will reach your destination via the best route.

Your advantages at a glance

With up-to-date navigation maps, you will reach your destination quicker and you will be more relaxed, too. And the Online Map Update also makes updating the map data simpler because a visit to the workshop is no longer required. All you need is a Mercedes-Benz account and a link to Digital Extras for your vehicle. Then select a map region on the Mercedes-Benz profile and the navigation map data will be updated automatically via mobile communication. Otherwise you can update your maps manually, for example if you are planning a trip abroad and would like to update the map material for individual countries or regions. In this case, you can conveniently download the required map material via the Mercedes-Benz profile and subsequently install it in the vehicle using a USB stick or SD card. Please turn on the ignition to do so.

User note

The system setting "Automatic Online Update" must be activated for the automatic map update. The map region that contains your country of residence is pre-set on the Mercedes-Benz profile.

Real-time data for the best route

Many ways lead to your destination. Your Mercedes-Benz knows the best way to get there. For this purpose, the navigation system is fed with real-time traffic data from the cloud. Should the prevailing conditions alter and a different route become a faster option, alternatives will be presented directly in the navigation system. You can opt for a different route either by simply selecting it in the navigation system or by driving directly along the new route in order to activate it in the system.

You like to know in advance what to expect at your destination. Does the nearest rest or service area have nice surroundings? Where exactly is the entrance to the hotel car park? At which building entrance is the best parking spot for an upcoming appointment? A look at the navigation map will tell you.

Your advantages at a glance

To use the Satellite images, simply set the appropriate marker in the navigation settings. The Satellite view will then be superimposed on the standard navigation map. The geodata is provided as normal when calculated routes are displayed. To explore new landscapes, towns or cities from above, you can also move around the map as you please.

No need now to let traffic restrictions get in your way

Your Mercedes informs you about traffic restrictions, ensuring that you reach your destination in the best way possible. If there are traffic restrictions on your route, you are informed about these and receive an alternative route to avoid the area. For this, please enter your registration number when activating the Digital Extra, and your Mercedes will inform you of restrictions automatically.

Always have an eye on the range

Do you want to cover as many miles as possible on one charge on longer trips? During your trip, the Range Assistant Digital Extra keeps you informed on the current range and the energy intensity of your driving style. Required charging stops are automatically planned in the route calculation. The duration of the charging stops are also taken into consideration so that you can reach your destination as quickly as possible.

Making driving with a trailer or towed vehicle easier

Always take the route that's best for you and your Mercedes with its trailer or towed vehicle – on familiar or unfamiliar roads. The Trailer route planner ensures that you get through with ease, wherever you want to go. You simply save the type and dimensions of your trailer or towed vehicle in the navigation system. These dimensions are automatically taken into account when the route is being calculated – and you can be confident that you will be following the route that is best for you at that particular moment.

Your advantages at a glance

Once you have hooked up your trailer, simply enter the type of trailer (bicycle rack, small trailer or caravan) in the navigation system via MBUX. In the case of small trailers or caravans, you can then modify the pre-set dimensions and weights on an individual basis. These data will then automatically be taken into account in calculating the route. This process will exclude routes that are unsuitable for you owing to height restrictions, the radius of bends, road width and other parameters. Using real-time traffic data, the route will be updated as necessary in order to avoid traffic jams, for example. Driving assistance systems available in the vehicle will also adopt relevant speed restrictions for trailers. In the case of electric vehicles, the trailer or towed vehicle will also be taken into account for the calculation of the estimated range and in the planning of charging stops.

The Trailer route planner is only an aid. The driver must still always be aware of the actual road conditions and surroundings.

Get to your destination locally emission-free with your plug-in hybrid

State of charge, route guidance, low emission zones – your Mercedes has everything under control and will automatically point out the low emission zones along your route. Your plug-in hybrid will change to the Electric drive program when you drive into a low emission zone, and will automatically plan a charging stop in the case of insufficient electric energy. All you have to do is start the navigation before your trip. Your Mercedes will take care of everything else!
